Yea, it doesn't have the mystery and intrigue that Wind Waker has imo. It's still a fun chill game. I think there is a good deal of hidden depth with the natural systems like wind, fire, and such. People do some pretty nutty stuff in that game but my mind just isn't there. I love the Zelda franchise. But BotW just didn't do it for me. In general, I'm just not a fan of open world games. Couldn't get through other critically acclaimed ones like Witcher and Horizon. But I did beat BotW and I put like 70 hours into it. But you know what? After 3 years, I don't have any want to replay the game.

 I'm sitting there waiting in the back of my truck when one of my friends pull up.
