Apparently it’s political suicide in every part of America. Atheists are about 20% of the population by the looks of this chart and yet there are zero in Congress, not even in sapphire blue parts of the country?Unaffiliated means non-religious. That’s different from atheist. The non-religious portion of the population is about 26% of the US according to a 2019 Gallup survey. That makes them the largest minority in the US.Which makes sense. I’m sure there are atheist congresspeople, but being openly atheist is unfortunately political suicide in many places in America.

 I'm sitting there waiting in the back of my truck when one of my friends pull up.
